Latest company news about Ultimate Guide to Offset Paper

Introduction

Offset paper, or woodfree offset paper, is becoming more common in everyday life. If you're not very familiar with it, don't worry! In this article, I'll explain what offset paper is, its applications, and common packaging methods, helping you better understand this type of paper.

What is Offset Paper?

Offset paper, also known as bond paper, is a type of uncoated paper. During production, a coating is applied to both sides of the paper. This coating gives the paper excellent printing compatibility and helps prevent curling or warping during printing. Offset paper is available in grams ranging from 52 gsm to 300 gsm, making it suitable for a variety of printing applications.

Applications of Offset Paper

Offset paper is widely used in printing because of its excellent ink absorption, which allows for clear detail and vibrant colors in printed products. The specific application depends on the paper grams, as different products have different requirements.

Magazines, publishers, and printing companies often use 60 gsm offset paper. This weight is cost-effective and versatile, suitable for both web and sheet-fed printing.

70 gsm offset paper is commonly used for printing high-end books and educational materials. It works well for both web and sheet-fed printing.

80 gsm offset paper is slightly more premium and is often chosen by advertising agencies and printing factories for high-quality promotional materials.

As the weight increases, the paper becomes thicker and more suitable for printing higher-quality products. 100 gsm offset paper is ideal for printing high-end book pages, calendars, posters, and promotional items.

120 gsm offset paper is great for printing certificates, envelopes, notebook pages, and corporate brochures.

140 gsm offset paper is typically used for printing promotional posters, high-end product catalogs, and crafts.

For even higher grams, you can select offset paper based on the quality and finish you require for your printed products.

The Packaging of Offset Paper

Offset paper is available in two main packaging formats: rolls and sheets.

For roll packaging, we use multiple layers of packaging paper, each with a gram of at least 120 gsm, or kraft paper with a gram of at least 80 gsm. The packaging is then laminated to protect the paper from moisture.

Additionally, we place round packaging paper with a gram of at least 700 gsm at both ends of the roll to protect the paper during handling and stacking.
