Woodfree Uncoated Paper (WFU), also known as uncoated woodfree paper (UWF) or uncoated fine paper, is produced from wood processed into chemical pulp that removes lignin from the fibers, with possible inclusion of 5–25% fillers. It typically combines softwood and hardwood chemical pulps, and may include a small amount of mechanical pulp (often aspen or poplar). These papers are calendered.
